Music

Music plays in integral part of the worship and liturgy of St Cuthbert’s.

Our four-part choir sings for every service of Sunday Morning Worship (with the exception of July Sundays). It is made up of volunteer congregation members and choral scholars. The choir sings a wide range of repertoire from Renaissance polyphony (for example, Tallis and Byrd), standard Anglican liturgical compositions (for example, Howells and Stanford), and more recent works. Hymn- and Scottish Presbyterian Metrical Psalm-singing are also very important elements in our worship.

The current Music List can be found here.

We are always looking to recruit volunteer singers. If you are at all interested, even to sing on a part-time basis, please email our Director of Music – Graham Maclagan  - music@stcuthberts-edinburgh.uk . Good sight-reading skills are essential as rehearsal-time is minimal.
